Blue Mountains adventure.

Wednesday I took the early train to Katoomba. They said that it would be really cold up there and when I looked at my phone it said -1 degrees.. Sooo good to be in a nice warm train behind a window glazing at nice views with sunshine. Seemed as if the -1 was all a lie. Until I had to get off my train and felt the cold going through my clothes. It was freezing and what I was wearing wasn't enough layers at all! I made my way to my hostel. Checked in and looked around before I decided to do a little hike. Ended up hiking for 3 hours on the federer walk with great views over the valley and the three sisters. When I got back I got myself some dinner and went to bed in my icecold bed. So I stole the blanket from another bed to stay warm.

Day two I went to Scenic world. Bought tickets online and had to pick them up in the morning so I went early and took the steap railway down. It went through a part of a mountain and had a nice view over the valley. Then it ended up all the way down where you could do the walkway on the wooden path. It was nice but I prefer the climbing/jumping/crawling paths around the Blue mountains. So I took the steap one up again, then the skyway over the valley to the other side. There I walked back to Scenic world to go down again but this time with the Cable way so that I had fully used my tickets. And then I took the hiking path towards the golden stairs. There I took a bit off road where I found a nice spot on a rock where I sat and had my lunch before I walked on to the golden stairs. It was a great route along trees, over rocks, under leafs and with great views. The golden stairs where not so golden any more once I reached the top. But the worst part was that I had to go back all the way. Or walk along the carway. I took that one. It was a nice dirt route and I walked all the way back to my hostel.

Day three was a relaxing day because I hiked the day before for 5 hours straight. And messed up my mustles. Didn't really get much sleep that night either because of cramps in my legs. So today I walked around Katoomba and visited the shops and a local Photographic museum which was really nice. The rest of the day I spent in front of the fire and with a spanish learning book. Also talked to some other people in the hostel who where from Victioria and had great story's about the wild animals and things to see in Australia.

Day four was cave day with Patty. She came in the morning and we got ourselves a nice breakfast before we went up to the Jenolan caves. First we went to see a look out point nearby and saw a wild wallaby! It was awesome! Then we went into the caves after a nice healthy burger hihi. I booked us the river cave which was really nice! Then we went back to our hostel and got ourselves some wine with chocolate. But first it was time for sushi! This night we had the room all to ourselves which was really nice.

The last day we went to Blackheath to do a hike and it was really nice. We took the path towards a little waterfall and the road was covered with rocks and there where cockatoo's flying around. Seemed like a little paradise. Without the chinese people with selfiesticks even! Probably because the road towards it was really bumpy so the big Chinese busses couldn't get to it. Good thing! Just a day of nature and bird sounds. Then after that one we went to some other place we didn't even knew but we saw this sign and since the weather was really good we decided to just have a look. It was really amazing. Nature everywhere! Beautiful weather! Only thing missing was a nice cold beer! hihi. After that amazing view we had to go home. So there was our ending to the adventure.. Let's hope for a new one soon!

Weekend of the 9th of July.

It al began this friday. Patty and I went to the centre to go to Tarzan. But we found out that we couldn't because we had vouchers that we could not use that day. But that didn't stop us from having a good day. We went to Lindt chocolate cafe and ordered a nice hot chocolat and a coffee before we went to another cinema to see Mika and Dave wedding dates the movie. It was a nice comedy so I was laughing a lot of times. Afterwards we decided to go to a bar to have some beers and then Patty's date arrived. She wanted me to stay with her. So we had a good night drinking beers and dancing. Until he took us to another place. A cuban bar with salsa music and a nice vibe. I instantly loved it! Well ofcourse Patty danced with her guy so I thought I could dance on my own. But in a few seconds someone grabbed my hands and was teaching me some salsa moves cuban style. hahaha was so awesome. We danced all night until we went to get a drink and then it was already time to go home.. :( Was a great night! Was home at 2.30 and decided to skype Azad. So I did. First time that we skyped so it was very nice to see eachother again. Been here for more than 2 months now so quite some time apart. We talked for some hours until I was sleepy and went to bed. But of course my kids where up again at 6.30 so I slept for one hour.. And after that some half sleeps. Until I decided to say hello and eat something. The family was getting ready to go to some friends for a sleep over so I had the house all to myself afther they left. That was good. So saturday I spent my day relaxing. Sunday I could finally sleep in a bit until I started my work out and house tasks.

Weekend the 24th of June.

So this time my weekend with fun started early!

On friday the 24th I had my Tallships adventure planned! I was going on a 3 hour cruise and was going to climb the mast! I was so excited. I was the only one that wasn't with someone. But I figured that I'd meet some people, because it was a wine and canape dinner cruise.. You know what happened next. Well first we got an introduction of our host and he told us a bit about the ship. Then he asked which fool would climb the mast, cause so it seemed that I was the only one that night to climb the mast.. But well first we had to get out of the harbour and under the bridge and then I had to go to my climbing instructor. I thought he would go first or behing me or something to make sure I wasn't going to die. But he thought otherwise so he just clipped me to one rope and said off you go! I was a bit flabbergasted but climbed the mast until I was halfway. Constantly saying to myself:' Don't look down, don't look down!" But of course I did. Scared to death but stubborn enough to just go to the top and stand at the top. A great view all around of the Sydney Harbour and wind was slapping me from every direction hihi. It was great being up there! But since I was wearing my summer jacket it started to get cold and I got down again to start my warming up with yo ho yo ho a bottle of wine for me! I was walking around the deck looking like a captain happy with it's ship and thought to myself. This might be the first time I'm on a ship like this, it will most defenitely won't be my last! But next time I'm taking winter jackets because I couldn't feel my fingers any more so I went inside where everyone else was. We all started to get drunk and so at the same time really happy and chatty. And before I knew I was invited to go on a trip with two ladies and their kids and I seemed to be sitting beside a Sydney celebrity the whole time! She was Geena the mermaid from H2O or something. This night couldn't be better! Well it could have been a bit warmer, but that's all.

Then on saturday Patty and Sanne (two au pairs i've met) where celebrating their birthdays and we went out for dinner and drinks. Which was really nice! First time for me going out in Sydney hihi. Of course I had to show some crazy dancing skills and show the Australians my moves but they seemed to only have eyes for ugly dolls on high heels and wearing way to tight skirts. Still I had a great time and went home around 1.30 so I was home around 2.30. Time to get ready for bed because tomorrow I was going on another boat!

Sunday was whale watching time!

I had heard horror story's about seasickness and stuff and that I should really get pills and what not. But instead I just got drunk the night before, went to bed at an abnormal time and did not get any pills. I did do my work out in the morning and had a nice avocado on toast breakfast before I went on the bus towards Circular Quay where I would meet up with Daniella. When we got there something had gone wrong with our tickets but we had luck on our side because there where still two spots left so we could still get our ride. We had booked the thunder jet boat, which is made for a maximum of 20 people and dives into the waves like a speed boat. Was really cool. I felt like a little kid again and I was already thinking to myself: it doesn't matter if we see any whales or not this is already so much fun! hahahaha. We also saw one seal and I saw a floating squid hangin around the harbour before we went to open sea. But on the open sea we had seen at least 7 whales! The tourguide said that they where not that jumpy today.. So that's why I don't have the best pictures. But still it was great being out there! I loved it! When we got back we where both cold to the bones so we got ourselves a nice hot chocolate with whipped cream on top! Yummyy! And we decided to have dinner somewhere and I told her about the spot where I had my Tallship adventure, because from that side you would be in between the bridge and with a view of the Opera house. And since it was her last day in Sydney it seemed like a good spot to have her last meal. We both ordered the fish and chips while chatting away the night.

The End.

Weekend of the 18th of June

The working week was a bit hectic this time because my hostmom was away all week to New Zealand. So this time friday was working day. I went outside with Emma most of the day. Riding her scooter and going to the shops to keep her busy. And of course picking Rose up from school and cooking dinner. So in the evening I was quite tired and was happy to see my bed. Saturday I had plans with Lotte to go to the Rocks. A nice place near Circular Quay where I reserved us a high tea with champagne ^^. It was really nice, we where sitting outside with our champagne and food and chatted the time away. Then it was time for her to get back to her family and I just wandered around Circular Quay to the other side of the opera house. I had never been there before so that was really nice! And I could even watch the sunset behind the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House until the Vivid lights where turned on for the last time this year. Which was all really nice from the point I was sitting. I was so happy sitting there with the view and the sound of water beside me. And then there was this boat with lovely music. I just missed my boyfriend there beside me to make this moment even better. hihi. So of course there is only one way to end this lovely day and that's with Mac donalds! Yeahhh! I ordered my happy meal to continue the happyness and looked back on this perfect day through the pictures I made. Good good day!

Weekend of the 10th of June.

So there once was a time...

It was a nice Friday morning to be exact. And 3 girls went to Berowra Creek to go hiking there. I was one of the girls of course, one of the others was Patty which I had met before at the blue mountains and the other girl was Danielle. It was a great hike and we had a nice picknick spot on a big rock in the sunshine. There was even one moment of total quietness! (can you imagine?! 3 girls and still we where all quiet at the same time!) It was really a beautiful hike along little waterfalls and the creek. So we decided to go by kayak on the creek next time. So that's a deal! After our hike we went to Hornsby to get some lunch. We spotted this nice little restaurant near the fountain and in the sunshine. Felt like vacation! Nice people, nice food AND a nice beer! Yummy. Life is good! We had some nice talks and when we finished our lunch we went shopping for a while before we went home. And of course. When I got to my station. The busses wheren't driving AGAIN. But by now im used to it. And it didn't really bother me any more so I put on my music and danced and sang on the sidewalk on Chaka Kahn- Ain't nobody. So I think the West Pymble people know me by now as that strange girl that dances and sings on the sidewalks.. hihi. When I got home I had dinner with the family and told them my adventures of the day with some wine. And then Ruth and I continued our conversations while James was watching tv. Was a really great day! Lot's of fun!

Saturday was bbq day with Patty.

We went to the shops and got some nice mushroom and mexican salsa sausages and some kebab sticks. Sadly enough she got a text from her host mom that she had to be home early. So our plans changed from going to a national park to have a bbq to having a bbq at my place in the garden. But it was still really nice and of course we talked a lot again. Also Rose and Emma came to see who I brought with me and where suddenly very quiet! It was like a miracle haha. Sort of shy at first. But that changed quickly. After Patty had left I cleaned the garden and put al the leafs in the bin. But Leo the cat wasn't happy about me not patting him because I was busy. So he sat himself on my leaf bin. So that I could do nothing more than put my cleaning gear down and pat him. And so I did. We sat in the garden for quite a while until he went home and I put on a movie.

Sunday Taronga zoo and Harbour Bridge.

So Sunday (today) I went to Taronga zoo with Lotte. We had to take a ferry to the Zoo and there we took the Sky Safari all the way up to the Entrence of the Zoo. Which was really nice because we could see that it was a really big Zoo. The Zoo was great, really big indeed so when we where having lunch we suddenly heard that the park was closing. While we hadn't seen everything. So we raced through the park to see the giraffes and bears and some other ones. And we made our way to the ferry while the sun was going down. Was really nice to be on the ferry when the sun went down, got some nice pictures of the Harbour Bridge in the sunset now. Lotte was meeting up with two other friends for dinner and I could come along. So that was really nice! We ate at an italian restaurant and we chatted for a while. Then everyone went home. But I decided to take the walk over the Harbour bridge to see some of Vivid Lights Festival. So that was really nice! And then I went home to my lovely warm bed again to write you all my adventures.

Enjoy Mates! And Remember. Still want some awesome stories from you too!

Other side of the world.

More than a month here already. Working 4 days a week with occasional date nights every week. Thought it would be nice to show you some pictures of my days and the kids. This weekend wasn't really an adventure.. Been sick since friday and even had to cancel my cruise this Sunday. Seems like the clouds are crying too. It's been pouring and some rivers are running wild.

So here you can see the road I walk every day with the girls to their schools. It starts at Rosy's school and than continues to Emma's kindergarden. As you can see it's a nice green area. But remember I'm with a 4 year old.. So what seems to be a nice little walk, is actually a walk around the world with picking flowers, sitting on the ground, not crossing roads, falling down and doing anything but walking to school. So quite challenging. After dropping Emma to school I always go to the shops to get some food and milk and stuff. Then walk all the way back, prepare dinner, do light housework and hang the laundry outside if it's nice and sunny. And after that I can sit back and relax until it's time to pick up the girls again.

Weekend of the 28th of May.

Saturday Vivid Lights Festival.

Today I woke up to a rainy Australia. Is that even possible? Yes it is.. But no worries mate! Time to do some excercise and get some brekkie. After that there was some time to be alone downstairs until Rose (the eldest girl) came for me to go to the Vivid Lights Festival at Chatswood. A place nearby our home, so good to bring the kids with us. Here we catched some Chinese food at a great restaurant. I even ate my food with chopsticks! All of it! And then it was time for the Festival to begin. Just in time for the lightshow and the walking dinosaurs! Even Ruth (my Hostmom) got in line to get in the suit and was walking in it after half an hour of waiting in line. I took some pictures and even made a little movie about Ruth in the suit and then it was time to go home. Tomorrow another great day ahead of me so time to get some sleep!

Sunday the 29th of May.

Already a month in Australia! Time goes by so fast! So today I woke up quite early again but it was so cold I decided to stay in bed until I heard them waking up upstairs. Because on sunday's when Im still there for breakfast we always have something special. Like cherrybread, eggs, bacon, sausages or something like that. Today we had eggs on toast. After that I made myself ready for my trip to Sydney and took the bus to the city. It was around half past 9 so there weren't many people yet so that was good. It was me and the wallaby's at the Wildlife Park of Sydney. Of course there where some other animals like snakes, spiders, koala's, crocodiles etc. But the Wallaby walkabout was really nice. They where all having a party at the back of their mansion and I was clearly not invited. So I watched them from a distance with sad eyes.

But luckily there was a lot more to see and I went on with my journey through the Australian Wildlife. The last section of the park was filled with darkness and nightcreatures like bats and mice so that was really fun to go through. And I got to the end of the Wildlife park and because it was still early in the day I decided to go shopping. Hadn't been to the shopping area yet but my nose brought me to the right place. Of course my body isn't made for shopping and I had not found anything nice in the money category of "Student" so I moved on to the next adventure of the day. The Syndey Tower! From the outside you could see it from miles away. But when you where walking in the city with all the tall buildings I lost it. But I figured I had to be close and went through a big shopping center. Which was also the entrance to the Tower, but I discovered that hours later when I had no water left and no food. No kidding, didn't take that long. I went all the way up there and watched the view. Also took some selfies. Because that's what you are supposed to do right? Oh and I want to take a vote to put al the Chinese people back in China and give them house arrest for the next 20/30 years. They where shouting at me in chinese, probably not really nice things.. They where pushing me out of the way, just when I was making pictures of the view. They where terrorising the Tower like ants on a lollypop. And of course those HORRIBLE selfie sticks, sticking them in front of MY camera and poking people in the back. And I have a lot more of such horrors. But well let's stay nice. I stayed up there till sunset and realised later on that everyone had that idea. So it took hours to get back down again. But ok it was all worth it! It was a good day. But of course there had to be something wrong. Because when I got home. I put my SD card in my laptop.. And nothing happened. Nothing! 249 Pictures. For nothing! But I read on the internet this problem seems to happen a lot to Macbook owners. And so I got mine to work again. Yeyyy! And that was all for today! See you guys next week.

Blue Mountain trails!

So today I woke up like 5 in the morning, I know, what sensible person does that?! But well, it was a 3 hour train way so I had to get up this early. And this time I was meeting with 4 other girls, who are also Au Pairs in Australia so that was fun.

We had to go al the way to Katoomba station and from there we took a bus to Echo Point. Which is a great point, but it's like China land. Chinese people with selfie sticks running around and stuff. So we decided to just go down and walk the Prince Henry cliff walk. Which was really great. Until we ended up at stopping points, because of course. There had to be a controlled fire area THIS weekend, so that we could not go on any further... Because why would something go the way we planned right?! But anyway we went on another road to the Scenic World. From there we decided to go to the Three Sisters and from there to the Laura cascades so we took the bus and went hiking there.
Really great trail as well, although my carves where kiling me. Note to self, don't do leg day the day before you go hiking! And we FINALLY got to the cascades. Because we where already making jokes about hearing the 'cascades' but then when we went around the corner it was just nothing. So we said it was probably a man peeing or something.. But we got there eventually and it was really nice too! Then it started to get dark and the train was gonna be really crowded so we decided to hike back to the nearest bus stop. But of course that bus wasn't driving. Because why would it. So we had to walk to Katoomba station and just got the train on time. So a bit of luck was on our side. But when I got in the train I was soo tired and just wanted to get home. 3 Hours went by very slowly but I got to my station, Gordon station. Of course my bus wasn't there. Because I think they have developped a system that just shut's off whenever I'm near. So I had to walk home but It was ok. At home my lovely shower was waiting for me so that image made me go all the way home. Until I cuddled my showercurtains and got into my warm bed to tell you my story and to put some pictures with it.

Hope to talk to you all soon!
